IB2 History students Jasmin, William, Maelyse, Jack and Emilie journeyed to the Sydney Jewish Museum with their History teacher Ms.Sweeney last Friday.
The guided tour of the museum provided a wonderful opportunity for students to explore the different displays and interact with museum staff. Our students consolidated their knowledge in a lecture with Dr. Ari Lander, who focused on power and authority in the Third Reich. Students were also very fortunate to meet and hear the testimony of Lucy, a Hungarian Holocaust survivor who escaped by living in hiding in Budapest before coming to Australia in the 1950’s. Overall it was a valuable and insightful tour and we are grateful to the museum for welcoming us.
